You can schedule a Planetarium show as an independent program, or as part of an all-day field trip

Adopt A Constellation

 

Help support the Planetarium by adopting the constellation of your choice.   As a thank you for adopting, you will receive:
 

  • Either a subscription to the monthly Abrams Sky Calendar or to Sky and Telescope magazine

  • An adoption certificate with the legend of your constellation

  • Your name on a plaque displayed in the Planetarium

  • Two or four free passes to the Nature Center and Planetarium (each pass is valued at $7)

There are 88 constellations in the night sky.  Some of the constellations available for adoption are:

 

Ursa Major, the Great Bear

Ursa Minor, the Little Bear

Leo, the Lion

Gemini, the Twins

Scorpius, the Scorpion

Delphinus, the Dolphin

Canis Major, the Great Dog

Aquarius, the Water Bearer

Cancer, the Crab

Pisces, the Fishes

Orion, the Hunter

Pegasus, the Horse

Cygnus, the Swan

Aquila , the Eagle

 

If the constellation you would like to adopt is not listed, just let us know!

 

Levels of adoption:

$50 level
       Subscription to the Abrams Sky Calendar
       Two free passes to the Nature Center
     
$100 level
       Subscription to Sky and Telescope magazine
       Four free passes to the Nature Center

Rent-A-Scope Program

Turn a family evening into something out of this world! Learn how to use a telescope before spending lots of money! Have fun in the great outdoors! For just $10 per day you can begin exploring the skies above. We¹ve put together a telescope rental package which includes everything you need to get started. Renters can use the telescope for one or more evenings. Call 275-3435 to make reservations.

Boy and Girl Scouts, homeschoolers and groups holding  special evening gatherings have all taken advantage of  this great resource.  By 6:30 p.m. he skies are dark enough to view several prominent constellations.  The moon also offers hours of observation and exploration.
