Learn why you should shut the water off while brushing your teeth and turn off the lights when you leave the room. Saving our planet starts with us and you will learn valuable “how to” tips as well as interact with some of the animals you are helping.Come learn how much energy you really conserve when you recycle a can, and make a craft to help celebrate this month’s Earth Day. 3rd-5th Calusaschool: Everyday’s Earth Day

Join us and celebrate Earth Day this month by learning ways you can help save our planet every day. Learn what it means to live sustainably and why we should all do it! Find out what happens behind the scenes at the nature center to be more eco-friendly as well. You will get to meet some animals who appreciate your conservation efforts and make a craft to bring home as well. Parents need not stay with child during program. Free with regular admission. K-2nd Calusaschool: Junior Herpetologists

Come learn what a herpetologist studies as we discuss many characteristics of reptiles and amphibians. You will learn how reptiles and amphibians differ as well as learning their similar traits through interactive learning. Your child will meet many of Calusa’s herps such as alligators, snakes, turtles, frogs and more! You will also get to participate in a herp craft. Parents need not stay with child during program. 3rd-5th Calusaschool: Junior Herpetologists

What is herpetology? Come learn why reptiles and amphibians are grouped together in this classification, and find out what makes them so different at the same time. You will learn why we encounter so many herps here in Florida and helpful tips to identify them. Hands-on interaction with our alligators, snakes, turtles, frogs and a craft are also included! Parents need not stay with child during program. Free with regular admission. Register by May 22nd by calling 275-3435.
