Visit
the New Butterfly Aviary!
Skunks,
Raccoon, Opossum, Oh My!
The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium has been part of
the Fort Myers community since the 1960s when the Junior
League of Fort Myers began educating the children of Lee
County out of suitcases filled with artifacts.
As you may know, we’ve grown considerably since those times
and now operate a Natural History Living Museum and Planetarium
on 105 acres visited by over 60,000 people a year.
We are a non-profit organization funded entirely through
donations, memberships, admissions and grants. Our
Museum and Audubon Aviary are home to more than 100 animals
that we exhibit to teach residents and visitors about our
natural heritage in Southwest Florida. We exist to
develop a greater awareness and appreciation for the unique
natural systems of Southwest Florida and to foster an understanding
of earth and space sciences.
Enclosed please find materials about the programs we offer.
