Wildlands Trail, a true hiking trail.

This rough trail, marked with blue triangles, runs along the perimeter of the Nature Center’s property. The trail is 1½ miles (2.5 km) in length and leads through cypress wetlands, pine flatwoods and a restoration area which has been invaded by the exotic melaleuca tree.
Wildflowers and low-growing plants such as purple aster grow along the path, enticing a wide variety of insects—especially butterflies—to accompany you on your hike. During the rainy season, parts of the trail may be wet, allowing you to experience Florida naturally!
If you are lucky enough to spy a butterfly along the trail, it may be one of the common orange-colored monarchs, a small brown Dorantes skipper, or the black-and-yellow-striped zebra, our state butterfly.
Follow the blue triangles painted on the trees along the way. Allow 60 to 90 minutes to complete this trail.

Pine Loop Trail

The Pine Loop Trail is 1/2 mile (.8 km) in length and takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to travel. It can be quite wet in the rainy season (June through October.)

The Big Cypress Swamp Boardwalk Trail is 1/2 mile (.8 km) in length and takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete. It is the only trail that is wheelchair and stroller-friendly throughout.
